The only bad thing is this book still references DSM IV rather ...

The only bad thing is this book still references DSM IV rather than DSM 5, so certain diagnostic criteria are obviously not up to date. But otherwise an excellent review. Many textbooks have a lot of filler material (for example, may say "it's so important to have compassion in psychiatry..." and then have a big paragraph about that); this book has hardly any filler, and is just chock full of high yield content, well-written and concise.

Review of Ebook version.

I am writing this review to point out the ease of navigating through this ebook. The creators of this ebook have solved a troubling issue with other books I have purchased that have questions and answers. The issue is having a series of questions with the answers all grouped together at the end. It is cumbersome in an ebook to flip through multiple pages quickly. This book has a link from every question to its corresponding answer and vice versa. The link allows you to instantly go back and forth. Other books have tried to solve this issue by having the answer directly following the question. This isn't helpful as I find myself always looking at the correct answer before finishing the question. All ebooks should follow the format of this book in terms of providing links between the answer and question. It saves valuable time without spoiling the answer to the question.
One more useful feature is that every chart has an attached PDF that can be printed or simply clicked on to see the graph much bigger. Many times in ebooks the graphs are too small to see.
I think many review books have similar pitfalls in terms of content however at least this one has solved some of the issues in navigating through a review ebook.

More than a review book

In fact, this book is more than a review book. It covers 90% of the information I am seeking to retain before my test. The only problem I found is that book mostly will not be too fluid for a PGY-1 or 2, in my opinion if you a PGY-3 you can start using this book. It requires the reader a solid fundamental in psychiatry to understand it.
It is an excellent book. I have not seen anything better than this psychiatric board review book in the market.
One advice, do not start reading this book if you only have 2-3 months to take the test. The book is fairly big, and you might need to review questions and vignettes.
It is just my opinion.
