About the Author
The owner and creator of Middle School Novel Units is a middle school language arts teacher who was born to teach! My love of learning and my dream to teach began in 1971 on my first day of kindergarten. I grew up “playing school” every weekend in my grandma’s basement. My desire to teach never wavered through the years and finally became a reality with encouragement of my husband to attend college during the years that I stayed at home raising our 4 children. I graduated from the University of South Florida in 2005 and have been happily teaching ever since. Through teaching, I discovered a love of writing curriculum. I wrote my first complete novel unit in 2008. Middle School Novel Units Inc. has been in business since June of 2011. great overview

It's a good book describing briefly all commodities and some of the critical information needed to trade them. I am an Agricultural Producer and the areas that involve those commodities are very short in comparison to the other commodities and don't provide any real specific or detailed information.

I would recommend the book to any one interested in trading any commodity but ag commodities, because it is too brief on this subject.

Appreciate the author for writing such a great book for dummies like me on commodities.

Few pros:
1. Simple real life examples on call and put options (future contracts) helped me understand the concept in couple of hours. I was trying to understanding this concept for a week atleast.

2. Flow of the books is really good, you feel like not to leave the book in between.

3. Best to read from start to finish on multiple days with appropriate gaps in between. (If you are too busy !). A great book for week end study.

Very helpful Guide for Traders

I'm an active trader and found this book packed with helpful information. For one, the author doesn't simply rehash old cliches about commodities but does an outstanding job of bringing to light new concepts and ideas that are helping improve my trading strategy every day. This book taught me how to analyze the fundamental drivers of the oil and gold markets, which has allowed me to develop my trading style for the long term. I really enjoyed the breakdown of the gold markets, and went long when the author recommended people start buying gold when it was at $650/oz; it's now at over $1200 and I'm very happy with my trade! Just an awesome book if you want to dig deeper into the markets without getting stuck in all the jargon. Highly recommended!

An amazing work. A must have for physical therapists.

I was fortunate enough to have Dr. Oatis teach me firsthand at Arcadia University. This book is a culmination of many years of clinical and also teaching experience wrapped into one astonishing book. The beginning provides the basis of biomechanics and its principles in relation to bones, muscle, joints etc. From there, the book is divided into units looking at every anatomical complex in the body. Each unit is broken down to examine the bones and joints in the first section, followed by the mechanics and pathomechanics of muscle, and finishing with a look at the forces involved at each joint. You will go on to read about every anatomical muscle and what occurs if there is weakness, tightness or even a nerve injury. The remarkable part about this book is the fact that in every section there are numerous examples that relate to problems that are relevant to clinical practice. I highly recommend this book to all physical therapy students, practicing phyical therapists, and also to universities with physical therapy programs.

This is a great reference book and useful in solving problems and helping my clients. The illustrations are well done and very helpful. It is on my desk and open most of the time. This is a great compliment and addition to other physiology and anatomy reference books.

This text really breaks down the functions of the human body into the simplest terms possible and then regurgitates it into a language that expands upon anatomical vocabulary. Along with simple verbal explanations for almost any term that may cause confusion charts, graphs and illustrations provide the tools necessary to make a potentially difficult session easy to grasp. Once you read the first few chapters prior to class you will be hooked on the feeling of certainty that only in depth studying can provide...and all that you have to do is read a few pages.

S. Michael Wilcox received his PhD from the University of Colorado and taught for many years at the LDS Institute of Religion adjacent to the University of Utah. He has spoken to packed crowds at BYU Education Week and has hosted tours to the Holy Land and to Church history sites. He has served in a variety of callings, including as bishop and counselor in a stake presidency. He has written many articles and books, including House of Glory, Sunset, 10 Great Souls I Want to Meet in Heaven, and Finding Hope. He and his late wife, Laurie, are the parents of five children.

Reach out from your fixed foot...

I don't give 5 stars very often...but I keep reflecting on the diversity and breadth of inspirational people found in this book. I have read a few books that covered specific religious traditions outside my own. They confirmed that there are certain valuable truths found across the globe and throughout the ages. I would recommend 10 Great souls for anyone " with a firmly fixed foot". It confirmed my own beliefs while broadening my appreciation of world views and great individuals. Hope Wilcox will write about another 10 Great Souls.

The people chronicled here are interesting - I learned a lot about several people I had no knowledge or very little knowledge of. The only gripe I have is the writing style. It wasn't my favorite to read, but I still enjoyed learning about these people.

This is one of the most inspirational, awe-inspiring books I've ever read in my life. The introduction defines outstanding literature and sets the premise for the rest of the book. Wilcox amazingly summarizes in 20 pages each of the 10 people...people you would not expect to see in a book of this kind. The underlying theme of the value of seeking truth in our lives....from whatever worthy source.... touched my life profoundly. It will be on my shelf in my favorite top ten of all time.

For the Chemistry Geek in You

'Essentials of General, Organic, and Biochemistry' is a great textbook. It includes many pictures, graphs, and other visuals. Also, there are practice problems, word definitions, and chapter recaps included in every chapter. Sometimes, it was a little hard to visualize the processes that the book discusses, but generally it was a good read. Of all my college textbooks, it was one of the more enjoyable ones to read.

If it isn't required, I wouldn't bother

My school is moving away from this text for their Intro to Chem class, and I think that is a very wise choice. The book does a passable job of laying out the bare bones basics of chemistry, but falls short when it comes to instructions on anything more complex such as conversions or calculating theoretical yields. I've never had to rely on Google as much as I did with this text.

Unless this is what your teacher demands, I'd look elsewhere where for an intro text.

I do, however, love the Amazon textbook rentals. Super affordable and super convenient.

Arrived on time and in good condition

I bought this for someone who will be a college freshman starting next year. He was worried about the course, so getting this early will give him a head's up. The guy at the college's bookstore said they might change the book this year, but he was probably lying. That's the problem with capitalism, some things just don't work well within the capitalistic model. What's more important, a young person's education, or this bookstore operator selling more books?
