I always wanted to know what Zed was thinking during Finding Sky. This is amazing in that it gives a little more insight into Zed before Sky, and it also shows Zed's reaction to Sky. Oh wow, so perfect.

Sounds like a series worth following

Trace, Uriel, Victor, Xavier, Yves and Zed are brothers with a difference, but Zed's the youngest and the only way he fits in at school is by playing the misfit. His brothers want him to play nice, and Zed's not telling why he's giving up in a crimefighting world that's filled with wrongness and death. Music's his only salvation, and girls are a pleasing distraction.
Convincing teen dialog, nice contrasts, and genuine insights into the mind of a teenage boy, albeit a somewhat more powerful boy than the guys down the road, make Joss Sirling's short story,Challenging Zed, a quick enjoyable read. Smooth backstory builds scenes of a boy growing up and changing from idealist to brooding stranger. But the future's not set in stone, and the annoying, but annoyingly beautiful Sky, might hold the key to more than just smoothing Zed's sharp edges.
By the end of the story I know this is a series I'd like to read more of, but I'm still not sure what a soulfinder is. Still, perhaps that's the point... and every teen needs to find his soul.
